Architecting Your GIS Ecosystem: 30 Years of Evolution

Get a brief history of the evolution of GIS technologies and an understanding of why we are where we are.  Mr. Kastor will share his personal journey of the various enterprise architectures implemented over his nearly 30 year GIS career.  The culmination being a hybrid ecosystem – including multiple GIS environments spanning “quasi on-premise” and cloud based solutions, featuring Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, Amazon Aurora - Database As A Service (DBaaS), PostgreSQL / PostGIS, pgRouting, Esri Enterprise, graph computing, Kubernetes, Snowflake, and many more.
